Ammonia powered general cargo vessel contracted
Skarv Shipping has contracted a new General Cargo Vessel from Huanghai Shipbuilding for delivery in 2027. The new order is following the four vessels already under construction at the yard. The vessel is designed with 7800 ton deadweight capacity and will be arranged with a dual-fuel ammonia-powered engine.
LMG Marin have made the concept design in close cooperation with Skarv Shipping and Grieg Shipbrokers.
The vessel is subject for an alternative design process for the ammonia fuelled system in accordance with IMO Circ. 1455.
This innovative project continues the streak of projects developed by LMG Marin for alternative fuels now including natural gas, compressed and liquid hydrogen, batteries and ammonia.
