LMG Marin designs new battery-hybrid ferry for Fjord1

LMG Marin is proud to announce a new basic design contract together with Tersan for a 60-cars double-ended ferry for the Norwegian ferry operator Fjord1. The vessel is designed by LMG Marin in close cooperation with the Owner for operation on the crossing Rysjedalsvika – Rutledal – Krakhella – Losna for the end client Skyss.

This vessel will be arranged with a main battery package of appr. 6000 kWh which will be charged with up to 8800 kW from shore grid allowing for significant reductions in green house gas emissions and a more sustainable operation.

With this contract the total number of vessels designed by LMG Marin on behalf of Fjord1 is 10 (since 2005).
