New contract for three battery-hybrid ferries for Norled
Norled have won the tender for the Stokkvågen-Træna and Stokkvågen-Lovund connections. LMG Marin have designed, in cooperation with Norled, new ferries that will reduce the emissions with up to 90%. The ships will be built by Tersan Havyard Shipyard for delivery in 2027. The ships will be 84.5m long with space for 60 cars and 250 passengers. The batteries of 8 MWh will be one of the largest battery installations in ships so far. The three ships will be newbuilding numbers 153, 154 and 155 at Tersan Havyard.
