Northumberland (ex. Fanafjord) 1

Description

NORTHUMBERLAND (formerly FANAFJORD) is a car & passenger ferry that has been retrofitted at Fiskerstrand Verft and delivered to Transport Canada in December 2024. The ferry was originally designed by LMG Marin as an LNG car ferry for Fjord1 operating the Haljem-Sandvikvåg route for many years. The retrofit was comprehensive, and involved e.g. revitalized passenger deck, new diesel engines and compliance with Transport Canada rules and current DNV rules. The vessel will operate the Wood Islands-Caribou route in eastern Canada.
