World first dredger designed to use hydrogen for its propulsion is delivered 1

Piriou shipyard delivered HYDROMER – a one of a kind hopper dredger – to Région Occitanie. HYDROMER is 70 m long and can dredge in water depth of up to 30 m. The ship has a well capacity of 1500 cbm. What makes HYDROMER truly stands out from the crowd is its innovative electric propulsion system that mixes latest generation diesel generators, batteries and hydrogen fuel-cell. 0-emission technologies will cover 25% of the ship operations.
